Ghosting is cowardly

Oh, yes I did!

After receiving an email asking for donations from this same organization that ghosted me, I thought ‘Shame on you’ and so I just hit send on this. Of course, I’ll never know if they received it or not (LOL?!?!), but damn — I feel better having had my say.

Last month I saw your request for a marketing consultant on LinkedIn and was excited for the opportunity to introduce myself and my professional expertise to you.

Since moving to the area, I’ve been a patron of your organization many times, and as a former Marketing Director and Board Member of an arts nonprofit, I feel especially grateful to have access to the plethora of arts and culture here in my new city.

However, as your neighbor and patron, I am deeply disappointed at the lack of care with which this professional interaction was handled. And, as a marketer, also. When you put out a call for a skilled professional and don’t take care to program an email bounce back with a “We received your information and thank you for interest in working with us” so anyone as excited as I was to help your organization knows that their materials were received, is, well…disrespectful and not how to take care of the community that supports you. I also made a trip to the post office…
